Weather Alert: Residents Urged to Stay Indoors

Posted By Always Florida / 12 de June de 2024 / News / 0 Comments

According to The National Weather Service (NWS) Miami:

“Significant rainfall has fallen in a short period of time, likely leading to impassable roadways over portions of metropolitan Miami-Dade County.”

NWS Miami has extended the Flash flood Warning, Flood Watch and Flood Advisory for Northern Miami-Dade County until 12 a.m. on Friday, June 14.

Extensive flooding has been observed throughout Town. Residents are urged to stay indoors and avoid roadways. Do not attempt to drive through flooded areas and exercise extra caution.

Public Works crews will be deployed to check pumps and clear drains as soon as lightning subsides and it is safe to do so.

Please do not call the Police Department about flooding as the problem is Town-wide, contact Surfside Police for emergencies only.

Please refrain from putting out your trash when streets are flooded as it will likely float away and become a potential clogging hazard.
