Aspen Ideas: Climate attendees will have exclusive access to interactive, educational, and inspired experiences in our host city.

Biscayne Bay Boat Trip
Explore the breathtaking views of Biscayne Bay by water during this boat tour.

City of Miami Beach Resilience Tour
Join this exclusive guided tour discussing the climate challenges Miami Beach faces everyday and highlighting the mitigation and adaptation efforts facilitated by intergovernmental and community collaboration. The tour, led by a City of Miami Beach resilience expert, will start in South Pointe Park and continue to Sunset Harbour, the blueprint neighborhood for sea-level rise adaptation.

Clean Miami Beach Cleanup
Step into action by joining other Aspen Ideas: Climate participants in a Beach Cleanup, hosted by Clean Miami Beach, a nonprofit organization founded by a Miami Beach resident dedicated to the protection of the beach and its marine wildlife. Clean Miami Beach has organized more than 200 cleanups and collected more than 65,000 pounds of trash!

FIU Microgrid Tour
Join a special guided tour from Florida International University faculty and students of the newly-launched FIU microgrid and control room to help advance research on renewable energy and increase communities’ resilience to extreme weather and power grid events.

Oleta National Park Kayaking Tour
Paddle along lush mangrove forests and explore the canals of Oleta National Park in this kayaking tour. Participants will relax in the calm waters of the North Biscayne Bay while soaking in the beauty of Florida’s largest urban park.

University of Miami SUSTAIN Laboratory Wind-Wave tank

Join this trip to the University of Miami Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmospheric, and Earth Science for an exclusive guided tour of the Alfred C. Gassell, Jr. SUSTAIN Laboratory wind-wave tank which can generate Category 5 hurricane force winds. SUSTAIN, which stands for SUrge-STructure-Atmosphere-INteraction, provides scientists and engineers access to critical observations within a realistic but controlled environment to study the impacts of hurricane and storm surge events on coastal communities.
